Hardly any of years ago, I had the chance to watch a modern area of the interstate being replaced.
Every one of us lived on an on-ramp to the interstate, and the people I was with and I were seeing every step they took, but my wife wanted to know why they were using rebar in the construction, however she was told that rebar has flexibility and yet strength, then by adding rebar into the highway, it would make it more durable, and less concrete would need to be used, now she wanted to know how they kept it together and if it had a form to be placed in, the rebar was the form, it was kept together by stainless double loop rebar ties. I was sure my wife was being a nuisance as she hung around the foreman and continued to ask more information. She told my wife that stainless doble loop rebar ties are easy to use and a wonderful alternative to tying wire, then professional result can be achieved even by an untrained steel worker, but with the help of a special tool, the ties are bent around the reinforcement intersection and twisted tight in just a single or many pulls. She never told the foreman that she was once a construction engineer, and only recently retired. She just wanted to check things out and see what kind of modern materials they were using. She was all gleeful when she came back to the modern home and told me about the stainless double loop rebar ties. She also told me I should get something large for dinner, because she invited those who went back to hotels, to stop in for a meal. She had a list of fifteen boys who would be stopping by around 9PM.
