When I first relocated to Jacksonville, Florida, I had a limited budget for my housing. Rather than throw away money on rent, I decided to purchase a home. My lack of funds meant buying a house in desperate need of renovations. Since I am quite handy, I planned to do the majority of the work on my own. I was able to save a lot of money by replacing walls, windows, light fixtures and cabinets without hiring professionals. Eventually I started fixing up the exterior of the property. I considered tackling the removal of the old fence and installation of new on my own but decided against it. The dilapidated fence was tangled in pricker vines, infested with bees and falling apart. The ground was extremely unlevel. I had no idea of how to even begin such a project. Plus, I really wanted the fence to be safe, secure and sturdy. I was hoping to get a dog. A good fence would not only provide privacy and curb appeal but allow the dog to get some exercise off-leash. I started by researching different types of fencing materials. I preferred something that would last a really long time, look nice but not require a ton of upkeep. I hoped to avoid painting and staining. Once I chose white vinyl, I needed to find a reputable fencing company. I read lots of reviews, spoke with neighbors and coworkers and ultimately contacted FencePro. They are based in Jacksonville and have been around for many years. Everyone I asked recommended them. While their prices were slightly higher than some of the other fence companies, I preferred their quality of materials and workmanship. I plan to have the fence for many years. Subpar materials would simply undermine the longevity of it. I was prepared to pay a bit more for a better end result.
